So, for my 29th, here are 29 little happy things that happened on October 17, 2007:
1. Susie let us come into work late.
2. Char had a wrapped and ribboned gift of chocolate covered espresso beans waiting for me when I woke up in the morning.
3. I woke up in time for breakfast and my coffee press of Joya del Dia Starbucks coffee.
4. It was a tropical +3F today when I woke up and made it up to an unprecedented +11.
5. I left the dorm without long underwear.
6. I had three huge pink balloons at work that my co-workers signed. Geoff signed one with a bad word and two minutes later it inexplicably popped.
7. I was able to talk to Mom and friend, Jen, on the phone for awhile.
8. I had a heap of e-mails from my co-workers at Sweetener Supply.
9. My amazon.com and three packages from myself came in the package mail today. Happy birthday to me!
10. Little Ashley sent a picture of herself eating birthday ice cream for me.
11. Tom fixed me up with cinnamon sugar for my toast to last me for the rest of the year.
12. Jared drew me a birthday card on a napkin.
13. Chicken Fajitas for lunch and Wednesday Cookie Day!
14. My Air Services group had carrot cake for me in the office after lunch today!
15. Laura called me at work from the South Pole.
16. Kaska and I provided the C-17 pilots with a crew tour of town and the United States Air Force sang their birthday wishes to me.
17. Nick pulled an avocado out of his pocket especially for me!
18. Terayaki Salmon was for dinner. Mmm.
19. Austin made me a napkin rose.
20. Cesar found me some cookies.
21. Flo, the French helicopter pilot, brought me a fine glass of white wine.
22. Jean from Rec came through with a card and yummy chocolate!
23. Raki remembered my birthday all the way from Dubai.
24. Tia, my most amazing Antarctic friend gave me a beautiful pair of her amazing earrings and a most-heartening chat before bed!
25. Story, Tia, Dennis, Jean, Jared, Tom, and Nate hung out and chatted with me at the Coffee House.
26. Took a shower with all my nice smelly soaps and shampoo.
27. I saw the poo cakes for my birthday. Enough said about our solid waste (see photo).
